Last week, FUEL-UP Project partners met in vibrant Istanbul to propel our mission of sustainable fuel innovation forward. We spent two action-packed days delving into the project’s progress over the past 14 months.
🔷 Day 1: Collaboration & Networking Dinner. We kicked off with in-depth work package presentations, showcasing significant milestones achieved. The evening ended in a delicious dinner at Banyan Restaurant with breathtaking views of the Ortaköy Mosque and the majestic Bosphorus – a perfect setting for fostering collaboration and inspiration.
đź”· Day 2: Innovation in Action at TĂĽpraĹź. We had the privilege of visiting TĂĽpraĹź’s R&D Center and Izmit Refinery, witnessing firsthand their cutting-edge demo-scale hydroprocessing efforts.
đź’ˇ TĂĽpraĹź’s vital role in FUEL-UP involves enhancing wood-based oils and charting a course for their seamless integration into biofuel production. FUEL-UP project’s solutions are designed to accelerate refinery adaptation, ensuring compliance with stringent environmental regulations and driving the transition to low-carbon fuels. The validation of wood-based oil conversion method at a pre-commercialization stage is a crucial step towards producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), marine diesel, and naphtha. Rigorous quality assessments will also pave the way for standardizing this innovative production process.
